Formation plays an important role in the life of the sacristan. It secures that the spirit of joy and generosity of the sacristan does not run dry. It helps the sacristan to grow and mature in the Catholic faith and therefore become a witnessing Christian and in liturgical knowledge and therefore understand, as much as humanly possible, what is happening during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
In Risen Christ Chapel, the altar servers receive formation primarily from weekly meetings by the "older" altar boys showing the ropes to the new or younger ones.
The altar servers are divided in small groups. Each group is responsible for the organization of different things for the benefit of the whole.
They also received appropriate guidance on maintaining proper decorum and attire when serving Mass and other functions.
In short, LND formation covers integral-developmental formation.
